I honestly don't know much of anything about Gretsch drums but it almost looks too good to be true. What do you guys think?

I thought most of those 50's Gretsch drums had "stick-chopper" die-cast hoops?

Nice drum.........hmmmmm....

The same person also has a 60s Slingerland snare drum up that is "all original" that is blatantly not even a Slingerland. No sticksavers, no pictures of the badge, the inside of the shell is painted gray with no re-rings, the mount hardware is new phillips head hardware. All things that make me suspicious of this Gretsch

He's just flipping the drum after winning it a few weeks ago: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150452143182

Says there's no flaking or bubbling in the paint, but you can see a spot above the badge, at the rim, where the paint is obviously flaking.

Thanks,

Bill

That silver/gold spark is a Star, I can certify that....anyone think IK could possibly be misinformed? I emailed the seller, so we shall see what this wonderful seller has to say as I am certain his expert has already told him the truth, but he got ripped, so everyone else is open to his fraud.

He is talking about another snare the seller is selling. Which is indeed a Star but he is trying to sell it as a Slingerland

Sorry, the one I was commenting on is this guys other listing for the supposed Slingerland, it is indeed a Star MIJ...he returned my email and said "yeah, thanks"...in other words...$%&* off... At least that is how I read it, considering he states his family has had the drum for generations...passing it down, don'tchakno

I wonder if he fixed the strainer on that Gretsch or not, if he didn't someone better give him and eBay a nasty email about misrepresenting an item.
