60's Gretsch drums worth?? Last viewed: 50 minutes ago

Um, wow. I can't start to think how you go about this. It's like "Sorry about you're Mum and all that but how about (insert figure) for that old Gretsch kit?" The passing of her mother would possibly re-ignite the mourning of her father too. Particularly going through all the old photos and paperwork etc.

If you don't know the family very well, especially the daughter then the kit is gone.

Only a well phrased letter with a very generous offer, and maybe some sort of additional donation to any foundation the family are donating to might scrape you through with dignity. So you better really want this kit. No turning up and "Tyre Kicking".

She will at some point want to move the chattels on and that can be a big job in itself so you might just be lucky.

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

I spoke with the daughter over the phone today, and we arranged a day for me to go look at them. I knew about these drums three years ago, while the mother/wife was still living.

The daughter was told by her mother that someone was interested in the drums before she died. I wish I had kept in touch with the mother, but she had died in the meantime, So, we'll see what this Grestsch is like. You boys need to lighten up.
