Hi Wayne, that ? was for the OP right? I kind of glammed onto this thread when posting the inside of my shell makeup for the OP, mines not for sale :)
60's Olympic Snare - Gold Sparkle Last viewed: 11 minutes ago
Correct sir.
I have almost the exact same snare, though mine has the older cardboard transition badge from 1959, and it's birch with beech rerings. Yours is newer and appears to be mahogany.
Mine looked like hell when I bought it and still had the original calfskin head, but I only paid $20, so I wasn't expecting much. I was shocked at how well it cleaned up, and it quickly became one of my favorite sounding snares. I love mine.

Very nice!
Yeah, definitely an awesome snare. I was just surprised at how much it sounded like my downbeat Ludwig with more bottom. After reading your post it made me want to take some more shots, so here she is.

Still looking to sell or trade for a 60's Ludiwg 16 floor tom.

Whoa, after seeing these new shots, I just realized I was confusing your interior pics with EricP's (mahogany) shell. Yours is definitely the same shell as mine: 3-ply Finnish birch shell w/ beech re-rings. And it looks beautiful.

Yep. Well, its listed on ebay now :)
Wow, that is super nice looking birch!
Someone said that 60's Premier's were mahagony and they started doing birch in the 70's, I always thought that it was the other way around.
And you have a bidder too! :)
The item is SOLD.
Nice photography Mr. Downbeat :)
