1123 Hi-Hat Value? Last viewed: 26 minutes ago

Loading...

Hi all,

Just wondering what a decent price for an original 1123 hi-hat like Ringo used would be? I've seen a bunch of 1121s and some 1123-1s in the $100 - $150 range. The 1123 I'm talking about (with the flat feet that the 1121 has and the curved part on the main shaft like the 1123-1) seems to be a lot more rare and hence more expensive.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

(And if anyone has a really nice one for sale, feel free to PM me.)

The following was taken directly - cut&paste - from an appraisal I received last week:

The Ludwig 1123 hi-hat stand with this kit is in particular demand these days because it is the model that Ringo used with the Beatles. This stand frequently sells for $350.00 and higher, while the newer (and more stable) 1123-1 routinely sells for under $50.00

Hope this helps.

Kona's price of $350 is not unheard-of, but I've gotten them for less. My best is not pristine, but close--I paid $189, but that was a lucky score....marko

Thanks for both of your responses. I've also seen them in the ranges you mentioned. Like anything else, it's kind of hit or miss, but it seems prices are hitting the $300 - $400 range even for less than pristine models. Flaking chrome wouldn't be such an issue to deal with were it not for the fact that the stands were assembled with rivets. Finding replacement rivets to put the stand back together with after rechroming could be a bit tricky.
