14 x 8 Cloud Badge Radio King Last viewed: 13 hours ago

Finish doesn't matter. Needs to be in VG to Excellent condition with all original parts. I'm hopeless with DIY so everything needs to be in good working order.

If you have one you might be willing to part with, send pics to stephenph(at)comcast(dot)net, or just post them here if you prefer.

Thanks folks.

The drummer of Husker Du had one...if you can get a hold of him..

Grant is his first name....that's all I can remember......

I'm afraid Grant and I haven't kept in touch. Hmmmm

Repercussions had a beautiful BDP 8" RK, but god knows where that is now. They weren't THAT rare, so I'm surprised more don't turn up.

Thanks for the bump.

Learn something new every day. I'm sure I recall an 8" being offered in a '30s catalog - it was like $2.00 more than the 7". I assumed they were somewhat available. But if you say they're that rare, I certainly acquiesce to your expertise. I've got a WMP Leedy '30s 8" that wasn't very expensive or hard to come by. May have to settle on a 6.5 or 7".

Thanks Blair.

No problem Stephen,

What are the 4 numbers inside your drum?..That's the month/year....

I had a July 1939 solid maple 8 by 14 Leedy that I bought in around 1988 from a local music store for $40....it had 2 extra 1/4" holes for a Radio King Tom mount!...Blue/silver/blue DUCO.....

Only one of those I have had...

Sold it to the drummer of Hoobastank....

Hi Blair,

The numbers inside my Leedy are 4104, so I'm guessing April, 1941? It was sold to me by a reputable source as a 1941 drum. It's in terrific shape and sounds fantastic. I'm a sucker for the deep snares from the '30s and '40s.

Here's the 14" x 8" Radio King that Repercussions had. My hope was that someone from here had ended up with it, and perhaps might want to let it go.

Thanks again for your guidance.

Too cool!

Was told after July of 39... No more solid maple Leedys..so..mine must have been one of the last ones.....

BTW....got a email from Grant Hart at 6 am this morn..he DOES have a 8 by 14,but does not want to sell..so,I heard right after all.....
