I stumbled upon one of these drums recently and i was just curious about them. It has no cereal number, and from what i could gather that means it's form the late forty's or early fifty's. It's 15 inches and about six or so inches deep, So it is massive! and the sound it makes is equally big! I am just curious if there is any other way to date these drums and what the cost of one would be. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated!

If you could post some pics of the drum would be a massive help, but here is a link for the badges which one does your drum have this will tell you the date of the drum also inside the drum shell it may have a stamped date inside! http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/ludwig_badges.html

ludwig didnt start serial numbers until 63-64 ish. wfls never had serial numbers. wfl did make some 15 inch 6.5 drums that were really nice. probably 6 lug,mahogany with nickel hardware?

Well..... I do love alpha-bits. Maybe it was a subconscious thing. So can anyone tell me something about this drum with no SERIAL number? Year? how much it's worth? anything?
