16x16 Radio King Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I am thinking about selling many of my older drums. The only drum I am unsure of the value on is this guy, I have not been able to find any on ebay in quiet some times.

Ill try to give you as much detail as I can

This is a single ply with massive re-enforcement rings on top and bottom.

3 out of the 8 lugs have been changed, one to a different lug but with the same spacing, two are nickel beavertail lugs off of a snare or tom.

All of the beavertails are nickle plated.

It has the radio king single flange hoop with the 8 original tension rods and claws, If i remember correctly 7 of the tension rod washers are still there and look to be original.

None of the claws are cracked.

The bottom head is broken, all of the tacks are still there.

The top head is still the calf skin but is dirty.

the original muffler is in good shape, its a double felt with red felt.

There is no air vent drilled in it so there is no badge...Maybe a special order?

Is a black and gold duco that would need refinished, no damage to the outside in terms of nicks that would be noticeable after sanding off the duco.

One of the large slingerland lug washers on the inside is missing.

I wanted to get lugs and make it in to a double tension but I just don't have time for it any more.

If anyone has any idea on the value please let me know.

I have that same drum. It is a three ply drum, not a single ply. Slingerland toms didn't have badges at that point or legs either. If it is early enough it would have snare lugs with the inserts at both ends. I know the tacked bottom drums are not as valuable as separate tension.

I pulled it out today and yeah it is 3 ply, I have not looked at it in a while. I figured it would be worth less with the tacked bottom.

It would still be a nice project drum.
