Bass drum or floor tom? As to "root beer sparkle", there is no such color. It's actually faded black sparkle.

I tend to believe Dr. C.J. Wenk when he says that Root Beer never existed. Check this link... http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/drcjw/article_4_finishes15.htm

A guy called Ray something was selling a 13,16,22 Root beer set like two years ago in Van nuys ,CA. I went to check em out and I saw them with my own two eyes. Root beer. Not faded black sparkle (which I have set of). They were legit to the very best of my knowledge. Everything correct. Ill check my old books if I can get his number back and maybe find out where the set currently resides. I didn't buy 'em because the price was a little high (not outrageously high) and it was just the three piece. No cymbals, no snare, no hardware.

This post brings this song to my mind:[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3g0NhJ7__k"]Black Sabbath - Fairies Wear Boots LIVE (1970) with lyrics - YouTube[/ame]
