1909 Ludwig Foot Pedal Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Today I was lucky enough to acquire a 1909 Ludwig foot pedal in pristine condition. It even has the striker for the cymbal attached to the beater arm. What I'm wondering however, did the actual cymbal attach to the bass drum rim with a specific clamp? Below the spring ( sorry I can't send pictures ) there is a circular, toothed part which is part of the pedal itself. In the centre, there is a hole. Did a cymbal mount fit into this "wheel" in order to mount the cymbal perhaps? Has anyone ever seen or even played such a device? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and Merry Christmas, everyone!

Those without the "circular toothed part" used a hoop mount. The one you have mounted on the pedal.
