Congrats Mike~! glad you were able to get this one. The discussion at DFO was interesting that's for sure. Good to see the final results. That's cool even the lugs are engraved. A question if you don't mind.........Am I seeing things right, is the shell a "frosted" finish except inside the leaves where it looks polished? How did they do this? The engraving is just beautiful. Works of art these drums are for sure. Enjoy~!

Yes, the basic shell is a matte gold plating and the shiny parts are burnished if i remember the term correctly.

Thanks for sharing. Have you ever tracked any more info on Mr. Bloomingdale? I'll bet California in 1934 was something to behold.

I haven't searched any further than what the seller told me...soon though but not sure how easy or hard this will be.
