Drum is single tension,so,lower line, obviouslyI thought Scotch were 6"-8"?

Single tension does not necessarily mean lower line. More like mid-line. Pro level, pearl finished bass drums were offered in both single and double tension but almost always in 14" depth. Slingerland's two lower line sets in the early 1930's did include a 12x26 bass drum.

Scotch bass drums at that time were usually 8", 10", or 12".
