1938-40 Slingerland Ray McKinley Model RK Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hi, Everyone

I just finished this late 30's Ray McKinley model Radio King. The original top hoop was totally destroyed, so my friend Sam Bacco down in Nashville built a new one for me by hand. Not an easy task! This is the first McKinley model I have ever seen. It has the words "Wood Hoop" inside.

That is cool.

Don't think I've ever seen the notched out hoops before.

They discontinued them shortly after 1940-41.

Mark - If it wasn't for you, Mike Curotto and a couple of others, the rest of us could go a lifetime without seeing some of these rare beauties.

Thanks for posting the photos.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Thank you! Fortunately, I had some '30's Slingerland pearl remnants, so Mr. Bacco was able to cut it to fit perfectly.
