1944-1945 slingerland 30" Concert Bass Drum Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I have a hard time figuring out wood types, but check out these pics. I have identified from the badge page that this drum was built 1944-1945. This monster bass drum is probably an orchestra or concert band bass with the letters "U.S." painted on one side, so I'm guessing it's a WWII military issue. This drum is in amazing condition with wood hoops. Measures 30" and has 12 single tension lugs. Check out the pics! I have not found anything comparable online.

Any ideas on what it's worth?

thanks

Austin, your slingerland radio king bass drum was a US military drum. it is a 2 ply shell with mahogany on the inside and probably stained maple on the outside, but slingerland was anything but conventional about drums back in the day they would custom make anything you wanted,I have a solid maple 14x28" 1930's radio king bass drum, on eBay 150.00-300.00 it should be worth twice the price but isn't

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I have a 30" Slingerland Concert Bass Drum too and I bought it for $200 at a drumshop in Berkeley, CA. I bought it because just the calfskin heads alone are worth $200.

What is beautiful about old Slingerlands is that every part of a Slingerland is made by the company right down to the washers.
