I'm looking at this snare he says its a 1950s WFL snare. the Strainer doesn't look right to me, but I could be wrong. Anyone see anything wrong? beside the puresound snare wires.

The strainer is a 1980s p-85. Other than that, it looks good to me. You can find the original strainer for around $60 on Ebay.

I would need to see the badge, the bottom hoop and the snare beds to give an opinion.

Other than the swapped out P-83 that's missing, it looks good to me!

Too many great drums to list here!

That is a real sweet looking drum. I think the lugs have been changed too (should be nickel or that is way too clean for original chrome) so I would guess with the throw-off change that maybe a hoop change happened.

That would have had the arrow head WFL P-83 and those are not as good as the modern throw-offs. I would have used a 60's P-83 with the holes for cord. That would be my only change just for aesthetics.

Should you buy it??? How much is the person asking?

He was asking 200 for it. I offered 150 and got no reply.

Thanks! I still may pick it up. I had the great idea to get a 14x10 Ludwig snare... I like a good fat snare sound, and if I tune that bad boy down low its more of a tom sound. great tight sound though!
