If I were to guess I might even say those drums could be late 40's or even 1950. I had a full set of those(I think Tommy P might have them now) that were prob from about 1949 or so. I want to say that style of WMP became vailable around 1948-1949. Before that the pattern was different. My set also had all of those silver badges you describe. The thing that is pulling back to 1940's are those floor tom legs. They look like a leftover set from the zephyr lug era which ended in 1946. Spring loaded legs replaced the kind you have and I always assumed they appeared around 1947 when WFL redesigned the speed king, unveiled the classic lug and shortly after came out with the change in the WMP. Do you have any pics of the bass drum? I think the first classic lug drums had small classic lugs on 9x13's as well so I would guess 1949-1950 for yor set.

Clamp on spurs for the bass drum were also common until the early 50's. The set looks good so far!

Wflkurt, these are the only other pictures I have, both of which are of the kick. Unfortunately one is quite blurry. The other shows the silver colour badge that has been referred to in the thread previously.

I noticed there is no cymbal mount on either side of the tom rail, and no holes where one should have been. Maybe that helps with dating, since pictures from the early 50's that I have seen while trying to research these seem to mostly have a mount on the drummers right?
