1953 Slingerland Radioking Combo BeBop Outfit Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi all,

I purchased these drums a couple of years ago online from a vintage drum dealer - i no longer have a good place to store them and want to put them in good hands. They were purchased for about 1300. I would really appreciate any feedback anyone can offer about an appropriate price to sell them for (i'm hoping for 1000) - and if you have any questions i'll see what i can do.

here is the description as it was posted on ebay a few weeks ago:

This is a COMPLETE 1953 Slingerland Radioking "Combo BeBop Outfit" with all of the original hardware. The only non-original components are the heads.

The snare is 4x13, and in impeccable condition, besides the strainer being jerky.

The bass/tom is 18x20, with a shell nearly as pristine as the snare. There is one tiny knick in the wrap, the wooden bass-side hoop is warped, and there is a subtle ding in the metal tom-side hoop.

Most of the hardware is in excellent condition - it looks like nobody has ever done any regular gigging or traveling with this kit. The only thing that looks its age is the bass pedal and beater. The pedal is pretty noisy and loose but is absolutely playable in the upright and horizontal configurations.

I am including a hard case for the snare and a soft case for the bass/tom. Everything is packed inside of the bass shell and will be shipped as one item. I also have pictures showing the inside of both drums, the bass drum badge, and the warp in the wooden hoop, and will send them in an email if you reach out.

hopefully this link will allow you to see the pictures from that ad:

if you would like so see the rest of the pictures, let me know and i can email them to you.
