Fantastic job and I'm glad those drums are being played once again. Congratulations!

Beautiful! What's the story behind the Gretsch logo color and the BD art? Will this kit be part of the vintage drum museum at DRUM! Night in San Jose on August 10th?
I bought these from the original owner. Tom Flye was a recording engineer at The Record Plant and recorded many, many artists there including my favorite band Tower Of Power. This kit was used as the house kit there so the drums themselves have been used on many recordings including Sly & The Family Stone - Fresh featuring Andy Newmark on drums and Rick James - Fire It up and Street Songs albums. On the back of Rick James albums he referred to Tom in the credits as Tom "Super" Flye. That gave me the idea to do the logo for the movie Super Fly on the bass drum but to add the "E" at the end of Fly as a tribute or nod to Tom Flye. The Gretsch logo was originally going to be black and offset but it didn't look quite right set up that WAY. So we moved the logo to the center and RB of A Drummer's Tradition suggested making the Gretsch logo orange to match the kit but outlined in black.
The logo is a decal that covers the entire head. I think it came out great and Tom was very thrilled with the logo and the kit.
And yes it was featured at Drum Night 2012! I will post those pics in a separate thread.
Here's Tom playing the kit in 1964
