1959 Ludwig 'Transition Badge' Club Dates Last viewed: 1 hour ago

SOLD! see note below.

Up for sale is a 1959 Ludwig 'Transition Badge' Club Date kit in very rare sizes. The last one of these I saw, (identical kit/color to the one I'm offering,) sold on ebay for $1300. plus additional shipping.

I lovingly restored this kit back to it's original condition. The drums are sound, no extra holes, problems or alterations anywhere. NOB lugs, hoops and hardware all in great, clean condition. The bass drum is especially hard to find. 12"x20"! The rack tom is a 9"x13" with a killer (original) 12"x15" floor tom. Not a converted marcher. The kit was purchased on ebay from the original owner complete. It is not a 'pieced together orphan kit.' It has always been a 'set.'

Three-ply mahogany shells; Maple inner, Poplar center, Mahogany outer. Awesome tone. In order to find a good home for these quickly I have set the price at:

$950.00 for the kit + you pay shipping. (Price FIRM)

I have locked this thread in order to avoid further contact with some 'problematic' individuals who ruined the first attempt to sell the kit. If you're interested, please pm me. Don't attempt to contact me by posting here, as I said, the thread is locked.

Somebody is going to be very happy with these. They need a good, loving home so they'll still be around 50 years from now. The guys who know me, know that I never buy or sell 'junk' anything. This is a quality little kit in rare sizes and in excellent condition. Priced well under market value. Nuff said.

Regards to All, as always, first come, first served...

John

You guys will never guess 'who' bought the drums from me....

Capt. Morgan!

Yep, the actor that plays Capt. Morgan the rum guy! It was a gas to meet him. The guy is 6' 5" or 6' 6" so I had to look up at him the whole time. He is so tall and gangly, that he made the club date kit look small, like toys! The drums went to a good home!

Note: To the two idiots that tried so hard to spoil my sale of this kit, I just want to say; Mya-mya- mya- mya- mya! And, just to rub your faces in it: I got my full asking price + I sold the guy a couple of stands and a throne.

I'll miss my clubbies...

Thanks all for looking. And thanks to the guys that supported me while I was being attacked by gnats. I had to post it twice, but it got sold!

Very cool John, I really dug that kit. I knew you would get full price for that kit, it just takes a little patience, which some around here don't have.;)

Or maybe he will go on David Lettermen and Lettermen will drop them off the roof of the Ed Sullivan theatre, now that would be funny!
