1960's CREST C.O.S. 5.5x14 snare drum Last viewed: 1 hour ago
For those of you looking at this drum and considering it, I would like to say that it would be a great addition to your arsenal. These look like cheap COS snare that have flooded the market in the last 25 years, but fact is, they are among the best Vintage COS snares of their day. This particular shell is one of the best snare shells made back then and arguably one of Pearl's best ever. Before Pearl (and other manufacturers) used names like "Super-Sensitive" Pearl quietly pumped out these snares for several MIJ Stencil marketers. Fact is, these are some GREAT sounding snares. They can become very sensitive and the higher you tune them, the louder they get.
I used to hate this strainer, but that was because I never had a good one that ever worked! Once I did acquire one in modern day that DID work, I love it and consider it to be a very good strainer. Nothing fancy, but it works just fine and the more I play mine (I have 3) the more affinity I grow.
HIGHLY recommended!
