1960's Rogers Holiday. Found in a ditch. Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Hey all! This is my Rogers Holiday set update. Made in Cleveland. Im 19 and one day while walking by the local bar a guy asked if i would be interested in a new "crappy old" drumset that he found on the side of a country road outside of town that had a sign that said free on it. He didn't know the brand or anything but I told him I'd take it, because what's better than a free drumset? If you wanna know the whole story check out my other thread, its pretty interesting. Came with the original bass pedal and original swivo-o-matic tom mount. VERY VERY little damage to the wrap, It blows my mind that at one time this set was covered with dirt, wish i would have taken a before and after pic. Anyways, this is my main kit, so i wanted to make it more of a players kit and not a show piece. Dont let these words fool you i made no permanent modifications (im not that stupid lol). I bought a nice drum rack and some tom suspension mounts and man did it bring these drums to life. I think the larger rack tom was an add on or something back in the day because it is a slighty different shade and the sticker on the inside of the shell is slightly different. It came with a 60's Zildjian Avedis ride, and i have a set of 50's Zildjian hi-hats to top it off. Let me know what you guys think! (considering it was free) Walking

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I remember your original post. Sweet kit. Just think of the drum rack as a giant rail consolette tipped on its side. :) Since you didn't alter the shells, you can always go back to the original mounting system.

Thanks for the update.

Woah! so much hating on my rack :(:(:( haha i'm a gigging musician, and using the original swivomatic hardware worried me, i used it for a few gigs and just wasn't a fan of it. My plan is to get a newer set to use my drum rack with and then take the Rogers back to completely orignal...someday Cool Dude Also, i had no way to mount my other rack tom, and I really wanted to mount it so i just went with the rack, with the rack my options for cymbal and drum placement are endless. I was kinda going for a modern look for it while still giving it the "damn thats a nice ass Rogers" look lol If anybody happens to come across a matching 14 inch floor tom let me know! I've been looking for one since i got it.
