Why are you asking us for an opinion with that price????

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I will be in minority, but I'd pass. It's got the wrong mount ($100-125 replacement), wrong floor for the kit (single lug). I guess it'd be a fun kit, but not for me. I'm past wanting fun do-fers and flippers. If you are wanting a fun little beat around jazzer, it might be cool. I sound like a curmudgeon. Sorry.

I see why Rogersling would pass on it.

I am on the fence, myself.

Try to get it for $250-300, keeping in mind the incorrect mount. 3 bills would be the CEILING.

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

It's not a terrible price, but could be lower. They probably sound fantastic. They will never be collector's items. Probably a great recording set and definitely something you wouldn't have to baby. Not original. Not collectible. But probably gobs of dark, woody tone without breaking the bank.

The reason I posted and wanted opinoins is I am not a Slingerland expert and the bass tom mount and floor tom looked a little suspect to me also.

The different single lug on the floor tom concerned me but Premiers floor toms had different lugs on some of their sets so I wasn't sure.

Thanks for the knowledgeable opinions. Rogersling, you nailed my concerns exactly, thanks.

I will go take a look Sunday as I will be in the guys area. If the wrap's and shells are in good shape and can get them for less I might pick them up. He is also interested in a trade.

Will point out the problems with the set and wave a couple of Franklins in front of him. Maybe he will go for it. My wife is going to go ballistic if I bring yet another set home, but I will drop her off at the mall first.

The floor tom is a Stage Band floor tom, it's Slingerlands answer to Ludwigs club date. you could get $100.00 for the floor tom, this Most certainly Isn't a collector kit it's a players kit, use it to gig with or to flip it, get him down a $100.00 more and a super deal a roonie!!

It's worth the money, but it's an incomplete kit that will need a bit more investment to give it comfort playing. It's just me ... definitely a minority. I would pass. But, the vast majority would pick it up 'cause it would be a fun little jazzer that you could get your money back on. Do what feels right to you. If it speaks to you, enjoy it. If not, pick up the wife and have a nice meal.
