1961 concert king 15x8 snare wire??? Last viewed: 6 hours ago

So I after months of tracking down hardware I am near close to finishing my snare project.

I got a 15x8 slingerland hasker 1961 snare shell for free. I am down to needing the nob slingy hoops and tension rods. My question is for you guys out there that have this drum or any 15 inch snare.

What snares do you use? I just looked up snare replacements for a 15 inch snare and only puresound makes a 20 strand 15 inch snare ???? I have some patterson gut snares but I'm not sure if I'm going to like the sound of gut on this drum. I want the drum to sound huge. I was looking for maybe a 30 strand snare to put on this thing. Another question is it possible to use 14 inch snares on a 15 ???

I have a couple 15" Ludwig snares. One I do have 14" snare on it and it works ok. The other has 15" snares that appear to be original. I also have a 16" Ludwig parade drum. It has 16" Ludwig snares. So, they are out there if you can find them but 14" ones will work. Gerald.

I have some nice Rogers wires for 15" snares...

Probably the correct rods...if you can throw a pic up in here....
