1964 Champagne Sparkle Ludwig Kit. Last viewed: 22 hours ago

A bunch of you guys helped me I.D. this kit and got me started on the restoration. What started out as a 300 dollar purchase on Craigslist that needed a ton of work is now this. Thanks for all the info and tips over the course of the last year to bring this baby back to life. I have attached the most recent pics and here is the link to the original thread to ID the drum.

Excellent!

Now,all you need is a SMALL 60's BD logo, and PLEASE........spin the Remo logo down to 6 o'clock, not 12.............I see that too often, and doesn't look right.....

Nice job man!

I hear ya blair, but I can't stand upside down logos! You can take some Goofoff or something to the logo to wipe it off pretty easily. I then trace a logo onto the head with a sharpie and it looks pretty sharp.

I tried Goof Off,and all it did was smear.......

I'd rather see a upside down Remo Crown then a rightside up one at 12 o"clock though! :-)

Did you ever see the 60's Slingerland catalog where Buddy is playing, and has the upside down Crown on his BD?

A better solution might be to buy a brand new Luddy head, that has the 60's type logo already on it,and has Ludwig on the bottom, just like they did in the 60's.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
