1964 Slingerland Snare Last viewed: 6 hours ago

I am trying to identify a Slingerland snare. It is an all original 1964 vintage with the dimensions of 14" x 5.5" it's a chrome over brass and a serial # 49XXX. I don't know what model this is.

Also what would people value this at?

The '64 Slingerland catalog would've listed that drum as a "Deluxe Student Model".

Six-lug student model drums aren't particularly rare and don't command the same prices as Slingerland Radio King drums. They are good drums, though, and are particularly suited to low-tension tuning and brush work. My guess on a ballpark price would be $150-ish.

Your photos show a student model drum ,but you state in your discription a chrome over brass drum.Thats a horse of a different color.Photos please.

I guessed he might be referring to chrome-over-brass hoops since the pictured drum obviously isn't COB.
