Now that you mention it you can see that the lugs are closer to the top of the shell. That is the same detail as on Ringo's snare.

you have to realize according to the 62 /63 cat you had the choice of nickle or chrome when you ordered your kit so they can have either one and still be correct

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I understand that....I was just wondering about the combo.

Ill post some pics when I get this rod situation figured out. The rest of the drum looks minty fresh right now. Its impressive.

Done for now. Waiting on finding some "minty" 1965 tension rods in nickel (1.75 inchers). It looks so good I just don't even know what to say. New Ludwig Weather King heads top and bottom. Original wires and cord (as far as I can tell).

Probably the most "valuable" snare in my collection now...whatever that means. The sound on these jazz fest drums doesn't really do it for me personally (I have two now), but thats just me. Either way...holding on to it for awhile. Its just too pretty!
