Hi, I have for sale one 1965 Red Sparkle Ludwig Pioneer snare drum. The drum is in excellent condition, all original. Nickel lugs & Hoops, chrome P-83 Throw off that works perfect with a Ludwig UFO case.

Great drum, I love the nickel hardware- if the wrap were champagne sparkle I'ld be all over it! Good luck with your sale.

Really? I thought this would be a foolish, time consuming project that would devalue the snare. Pioneers are really worth $150 no more, in my opinion. Unless it's a rare wrap. Love the sound though.

Check the completed sales on Ebay. His asking price is reasonable compared

to what some of them are bringing. (example: '66 BDP - $250, ' 66 Silver Sparkle -

$265).

I have a '66 Pioneer in black lacquer that I wouldn't think of parting with for

less than twice the amount you mention. It's near museum quality and like

you, I love the sound.

I think I am being fair on the price. I don't wish to get in to a debate...

The reason I mentioned conversion, if you have a vintage kit and the matching snare is missing (they usually are) it's just not that hard to convert them and you have a Jazz Fest.
