Here is a project I am working on and have been since the summer . This set has a real 18" Kent bass drum which is pretty rare . I know of another and have heard rumor of one more . I still have some work to do yet but wanted to share .... The sizes are 18 , 12, 14 , and 5x14 - 8 lug snare all in original finish ... It still has the Kent logo bass drum heads ... I hope you like it and sorry for the bad pic I will have more and better ones as I finish , so far it sound great !

Chris ,
The bass drum is great very musical and responsive . i still have some work left to do but the other drums sound good as well . The bass drum is awesome though . Well it is if you like that type of BOP tuning which I do ...
Oh wow. Great find. I used to have a couple of 6-lug Kent snares that were quite lovely sounding.

And I bet it's even rarer to find Kent drums with not only an 18", but an 8-lug 18". Even lots of their 20" bass drums only had 6.

That does seem to be a very rare bird. Nice color too. Does the bass have single lugs? Seems a lot of Kent drums had a single lug only on the mounted tom and the bass and floor toms had double lugs.
Whatever it is, its a great little jazzer. 18" bass drums are going to sound the same whoever makes them. Its the way it goes, but owning a little bit of US drum history is pretty cool!
Beaut! I love the club date style kits. Very classy.

The 6 lug bass drums were on the cheaper price sets as the 8 were from the higher end ones . they also did 6 lug 22 bass drums which i had one before and it sounded great . Tuned up easier than you might think too.. They made 6 and 8 lug 14x14 floor toms as well . I have both in my collection ...
