Sacrifices to shrink the drum collection footprint when we downsized our lives from a 3,000 square foot house to a new 1830 square foot cottage wasn't painful at all. I was able to keep five vintage drum sets that I liked best of all and all of my vintage cymbals and hardware. The eight sets that I sold were all great drum sets, but there was a good amount of duplication of those I kept.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Ah but I am going in the opposite direction!

From a 750 sq ft condo to minimum 3000 sq foot home.

My mother in law is going to be living with us too but she's a sweet lady just like my wife & even finds me drums in Montana now!

We shall see how much actual "thinning" I do when the time comes! ;-)

I was going to suggest lightening the load by starting with the mother-in-law! Bet you can get a heap of drum kits in the room she would have occupied. Think... 'studio!':p

Too many great drums to list here!

She's really a sweet lady.

And look what she found in Montana for me (for 17.00) and sends to her son in law.

She always looking for me! My Wife AND my mother in law are awesome.

Yes, that is a great mother-in-law Mark. My mother-in-law never hunted drums, but my wife found a 1920's Ludwig metal snare at a yard sale for $1 about 20 years ago.It was a 4x15, which size was not too popular at the time. I traded it for a BDP Dynasonic. It was fairly cool to get a BDP Dynasonic for $1 at the time.

Can you believe I don't still have that drum??? I swapped even for a blue onyx model because I had a blue onyx set to match it with. Then I sold the whole set. I might have taken away a net upper on that one. Car Driving2
