1966 Ludwig Holltwood 4 pc Blue oyster pearl, Amazing condition Last viewed: 1 hour ago

22", 16" 12" 12", and yes the Hollywood kit was configured with two 12" toms from the factory at that time.

Incredibly good shape. The only issues I know of: one nut on a tom holder is not correct. One leg on the floor tom is not correct, bottom head of floor tom is Ludwig weathermaster, but blue logo instead of the rest of the heads which are black logo. One T rod on 16 FT is not correct and slightly bent. I will see if ai have another that matches the rest. There are several T rod washers missing. small bit of paint flakes off bass drum hoops. There is some light scratching on numerous parts, but pics are pretty well representative of overall condition. The only thing I have done with this kit is remove the FT bottom head for interior photo and wiped it down with a rag. Otherwise has been stored in cases since I got it a few years ago

$2000 SHIPPED OBO.

Bump

Sure would like any recommendations where to market this. I would hate to have to put this on ebay.

Are all the shells dated Feb. 1? That is my birthday, just the wrong year...:D

Very nice set...If I had the scratch I would definitely be on these...

Buy with confidence from mountainhick...Items are as described, great packing and communication...

Good luck with the sale...

Cheers

Just a heads up, This Sunday I am listing as an auction starting at $1600 plus shipping. Hurts me to let it go under $2K, but It really has to go one way or the other. For now, before the auction, I'll ship it to lower 48 for $2K shipping included, or, make me a good offer.

Beautiful but I never got the 12" / 12" thing. Makes no sense.

I never did either until I owned one. they are perfect together I think. those 12's can tune all over the place. i'm usually a one up guy. but the 2 12's are more visually balanced for me as well.

Those are some really sweet tubs! Love OBP

I hope people don't mind it when I or others chime in on a for sale item just to comment on it. I think its good for the seller because it keeps bumping their for sale thread up to the top, no? If not then some speak up and I will stop it.

Thank you!

Jeff, I don't think it's a bad thing at all to compliment someones sale item. I always appreciate it when it happens on mine.

With drums this beautiful, it's hard not to comment! Good luck with your sale!

I've also bought from mountainhick in the past and endorse his accurate description and careful packing job.

Gorgeous drums!

On the double 12's, I like it. An early drumming influence, Bobby Columby of BS&T, used a Rogers wine red ripple 20,12,12,16 both live and in the studio. It remains in use for recording to this day. He subsequently appeared to use a Premier set with double 13's in live play. I've like the idea of a 20,12,12,14 for some time, but you don't see them. I've seen one blue onyx 18,12,12,14. As someone said above, it's a nice balanced look and I agree. Even if tuned exactly alike, I would tend to expect a slightly differing pitch from each, using differing arms or hitting from differing angles that would tend to induce a differing response.

I currently have a blues strata, but I find this oyster blue to have a nicer hue if the pictures are accurate to the reality.

Good luck on the sale!
