1967 Ludwig Supraphonic Keystone Badge - Player's Snare - Last viewed: 1 hour ago

-----------SOLD--------------

Offering a 1967 Keystone Badge 10 Lug Ludwig Supraphonic.

I am throwing this up here and this offering will stand until sold, BUT only if snagged up before the first 'bay bid. Hitting the 'bay later tonight.

This is clearly a players snare, but the good part is that you don't have to stress out about its care - you can gig with this one - and it won't cost you an arm and a leg like most do (no implication there!)

It has pitting throughout, though I have cleaned it up, Bigtime. The best part of the drum is the side that faces the front of the stage (Butt, Baseball Muffler Knob, and Badge), and the worst part is the 'back' of the drum, to the left of the strainer. Despite the cosmetic issues, it is indeed in very fine functional condition, and as far I know, it is all original and complete. The exceptions are the consumables. The strainer handle has lost its chrome, and the butt end has had some flaking. Lugs are pitted more than the shell. The only flaw (damage) is the bottom hoop at the snare slot, which is located in the back with the strainer. Hoops - top is a 9, bottom is a 7 (out of 10)

Top - Coated Emperor

Bottom - Vintage 60s Slingerland snare bottom

Modern aftermarket generic wires in perfect condition

PICS - I am including 2 sets of 5 pics - trying to show the best, and then showing the worst - that it can look, all depending on lighting I suppose.

PP only please.

Exclusively for my forumites, $206 plus shipping. The BIN on the bay will be 240 (or maybe it won't even hit the bay??)

Serial is 520591

The standard classic snare of American classic rock, and for all classic pop for that matter.

More pics can be emailed.

Please help me pay rent.

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Top hoop is wrong...see at least 3 wrong t-rods toosorry...

Oh no - Blair, I don't mind at all, you identifying these things. I am not a Luddy expert and am not able to notice/ know these things. I did notice that the top hoop is thicker, just did not know if that was the way it came (standard) or even as a option.....

....did not notice the difference of the 3 rods, thanks for pointing that out, as it might matter to some.

It is about 95% the way I acquired it (just changed the bottom head). That Slinger head is all I changed - was all I had laying around. Someone might actually appreciate it???

Top hoop looks generic MIJ or ROC..notice the rounded "ears" compared to the square Luddy?

I just sold a 1968 400 Luddy on Feebay for $180 with brand new top/bottom heads.......cleaned top to bottom also..BUT..it had 1 wrong bottom rim!

Found it on CL for $30 recently here in a blurry pic with a set...

John - For the price you're offering that great old drum, nobody is going to care about a mis-matched hoop and a few rods. Very cool of you to offer such a great deal to the forumites.

Best of luck to you for a quick sale.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Thanks John for the kind words and well wishes.

STATUS UPDATE for interested parties:

As of right now, I have 3 forum members interested, but I have told the last 2 that I have to touch base with the first member who contacted me. I am trying to honor the first come-first serve. Meanwhile, I have over 20 watchers on the auction.

It has been over 48 hours since I heard from this forum member, and I am giving him until 8PM tonight to touch base with me and exercise his first dibs. If not contact by then, I will be selling to the 2nd or 3rd forum contact.

Meanwhile, I have no bids on the auction, but if one shows up before I close a deal with a forum member, I MUST go through with the auction. This has been my position from the start.

Not trying to pressure anyone (giving someone over 48 hours is adequate) and just trying to be fair to everyone.
