So I won these on eBay and in case you need a set there is another in Spain for $4400!! These are all January 1968 date stamps and begin in the 562XXX except the floor which is a 568XXX. No mods and in a wonderful aged thermogloss finish with white resocoat interiors.

Sizes are 12x8, 14x14 and 12x18 :)

Enjoy!

I played these bad boys today :) Wow I am super impressed with this kit. I was not sure what to expect from the 18x12 bass drum. The toms just sing for days and the bass drum has an awesome blend of punch and body.

The Camco got play time today also. I put all new heads on the Camco and wow! Anyway digging both kits a lot. So much so that if I do sell the two kits I have listed I won't even miss them.

I noticed that the rail consolette seems aligned centered with the badge and not centered between the lugs. I looked at a lot of pictures of Jazzette kits and seems there were slight variations in the exact placement. I take it this was likely drilled by hand with a jig but more than likely just eye balled in terms of exact location on the drum.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

That's how I remember mine to be.....slightly skewed to the left side. Most likely done to put the tom more to the drummer's left for a right-handed drummer. Mine had a shell mount cymbal holder on the right side of the drum, and yes it was fit at the factory that way. I know, because my dad ordered it that way back in 1968! I rather wish I could have talked him out of using them as a trade-in on the last Ludwig kit he owned (which I inherited & still own). The trade was done in the late 1980's and I told him he would regret it someday as that was his first set of Ludwigs, as well as his first NEW kit. A few years later.......yup, regret sat in. Oh well.

As a side note, if anyone ever comes across a Ludwig Jazzette kit finished in black panther with keystone badges that have 1968 serial numbers and two spots on the bass drum for shell mount cymbal holders, please contact me immediately! Those would be my old kit (previously my dad's) and I still own the matching supraphonic that came with it. I'd love to get them back! :D
