1970s BDP Ludwig 6 Piece Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hello all!

I was in the midst of restoring an inherited 1970s Black Diamond Pearl Ludwig 6 Piece kit... but I just don't have the time and it is sitting in my finished basement neglected.

For its age, it is in pretty good shape... minimal pitting on the rims.. the shells are peeling at the seams just a bit, but can definitely be adhered down. Needs new heads, etc. I would keep it, but even if I did restore it, I would have nowhere to play it.

I plan on posting pics very soon, just wanted to put this out there to see if there would be any interest. It really is a beauty.

I promised my mom I wouldn't sell it... but I would rather see someone who will completely restore it and put it to good use.

How much were you going to ask?

Thanks!

Well, I know how much they are being sold for in decent condition... I think mine is in decent condition. I've already cleaned four of the drums very thoroughly and they look so good.

The bass drum needs the most work.

PM me and we can talk about price. :)

I was hoping for 1800 - 2200 for the whole kit. I also have a set of vintage Remo rototoms that will come with it. Snare, Bass, 2 toms and 2 floor toms.

Based on the badge (rounded corners), they should be 6 ply drums. Unfortunately, they don't generally fetch the same cash as the more sought after 3 ply drums. What's the snare drum look like - chrome, or matching the rest of the drums?

The snare matches the set. Honestly, I wasn't really sure what to ask. I just threw out a number. I appreciate the feedback though.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thank you! Honestly, it was in good condition when I inherited it. Cleaned up very nice.
