I`m with Mikey777 on this one. Of the sets I`ve owned, they`ve all sounded great (surprisingly WARM) and the uneven-ness around the shell just tells me that these were hand-made and once the rims/heads are on, big deal if they aren`t uniform cut. Proof is in the sound.

If you get a chance, bring your own heads to try on them. I personally like the coated Emps on mine but to each their own.

Hey, if it turns out you don't like the kit. I have a 70's Premier african mahogany kit (14x22, 9x13, 10x14, 16x18) and a 5x14 supraphonic I would be willing to trade you for them.., I'm on the look out for a fibes kit with 24 bass. Let me know if you would possibly be interested.

I will definitly think about it FunkyCrime if I buy the kit, but the guy didn't reply to my offer, he doesn't seem to want to sell his kt...but I checked other adds and found this beautiful 70s-80s Gretsch 13/16/22: http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=323030979

What do you guys think? It seems like a walnut finish and die cast hoops...how much would be a fair price for it?
