1979 Ludwig Smokey Vistalite Power Tom Set Last viewed: 3 hours ago

This is the first time I'm putting my set up for sale. I've owned it since 1981 and it's been rarely used for performances (maybe around 20 gigs back in the 1980s). It's been sitting for the past 15 years, I'm getting older, have young kids, and don't think I'll be using these in the future. So, here it goes. I have no idea on price so contact me if interested. I'd like to to find a good home for her :-)

1979 10 piece Ludwig Smokey Vistalite (Power Tom set without deflectors)

6" tom - single head - deep

8" tom - single head - deep

10" tom - single head - deep

12" tom - single head - deep

14" tom - single head - deep

16" tom - single head - deep

18" floor tom - double head - deep

20" floor tom - double head - deep

26" bass - double head (total of 4 support feet) (no mount hole on top)

14" or 15" chrome snare (can't remember)
I built 2 road cases with wheels that fit all the drums except the 2 floor toms. All the mounted toms fit inside each other into one case. Bass and snare in the other.

I'll get some pictures to share. This is a spur of the moment post.

Sounds like a very nice set and original owner too is a major plus. But IMO if you don't need the money keep them tucked away for now. You and your kids might develop a interest in years to come. I did the same thing, sold my Fullerton Rogers 5pc kit and 8pc 70's Slingerland kit, hardware, cymbals and cases. I thought with raising a family I wouldn't have the time or interest. Well 3 out of 4 of our kids play the drums (besides other instruments) and I got bit by the vintage drum bug myself. We have 3 kits now and still looking to add in the future. Once they are gone it's very hard to replace them. I took a very long break away from the drums and it's been a blast getting back into them again. Wish I had my old kits though~! Good luck. Glenn. ;)

Ps.....My kids were all and major influence getting me playing again. So I owe a lot to them for their help and support. And of course my wife for putting up with me all these years.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Thanks Glenn for you words of advice :-) This is a big set to be hauling around, I don't think my wife will support me playing again, and I'm not ready into gigging anymore. I just like to play and need a volume knob to play at night. So I'm looking into electronics.

The decision to sell these is getting harder and harder. I dug them out and cleaned them up. Here's a site where I posted pictures of the set, detailed pictures of each one with descriptions.

being mostly concert toms will make the sake somewhat harder but put a price on it and see if there is any interest you can always decide not to sell/
