1980s(?) Premier ident Last viewed: 2 minutes ago

Won a beat up Premier kit at an auction, slightly disappointed in the shape of it, but it wasn't much, and might be fun to find parts to restore it.

Anyways, here's some pics; what's kind of neat that I've never seen before is the retractable bass drum spurs: there's a spring-loaded tab you press, which releases the spurs so they can be retracted/extracted.

Those are some nice Premier mahogany shell's. Maybe 70's Projector series. Nice snare drum. That will clean up beautifully. If you got those cheap I would consider rewrapping them. Would be a really nice and great sounding set. I have a Premier set from about that era I fixed up and it is a great sounding set. Let me know if you want to sell that snare. Would go nice with my set.

Thank you for the encouraging words, my friend. :)

I was pretty disappointed when I took those home and barely looked them over, happy to have at least scored a nice hollow logo Zildjian 16" crash (that's quite heavy and really understated/dark, which I like).

Couple of questions for you:

How do you know it's mahogany, by the colour?

Also, should I bother trying to find authenticate bottom hoops for the toms and kick?

Any recommendations on repairing the bottom edge on the floor tom? It's split, but intact, so was thinking wood glue and clamps.

As for selling, well, I'm in Canada, so probably not a practical sale for either of us, but I'll keep it in mind. ;)
