22" Old K--New Stamp--2360g. Last viewed: 25 minutes ago

Price Reduction.

Here's my 22" old K. A sublime, low-pitched, mushroomy, soft, complex ride with the old K stick and all the controlled wash and expressivity you could want out of a new stamp.

Super desirable weight at 2360g--I've played this cymbal on small combo, big band, rock, blues gigs--and it's just an iconic, totemic, archetypal sound/weight that killed in every situation I came across.

A slightly imperfect mount with one tight crack--about 1/2" (I'd have to confirm, going from memory) that I marked 5 yrs ago when I got it and it never moved. It's tight. No vibration, no issue. No other damage.

I'm only selling because of immediate financial pressure. Not looking to gouge, just looking to get what I have in it: $1700 + shipping/insurance (estimated) in US. Paypal please. Really need to sell so a fair, reasonable offer will be considered!

No trades.

Pretty busy at the moment but if there's a serious buyer out there, I can make the effort to get some photos. In the meanwhile, here are some pretty accurate sounds:

Here's a vid--listen with the volume down and the HD all the way up. I don't have anything that makes a good sounding video, but this gives you more info about the cymbal....

Please have patience with my lack of knowledge. I've been thinking about adding another 22 inch to my set (all my cymbals are 50's small stamp A's). What does it mean 'old K--New Stamp'? I'm only guessing but from the price this must be from the 50's? I'm only just beginning to understand the stamps and dating...also...I don't mean to cause you extra trouble and will tell you I'd love to go for your cymbal but alas I'm retired and on a budget and all I can do is dream of K's...ya can't blame me for at least investigating what I can't afford anyway.

thanks

This probably isn't the right place to disuss this and a google search might serve you best, short of zenstat dropping in and contributing information in his inimitable and excellent style.

Nevertheless, I will say that New Stamps are from the (late) 60's to 70's. Pricing should probably be around $3000 for 22" cymbals from the 50's. Blueprint is reasonable in what he's asking. People commonly refer to any K Zildjians made in the Istanbul factory as old K's, but that doesn't tell you what stamp the cymbal has.

Hopefully that's somewhat useful info.

Sorry for the thread hijack, Blueprint. All the best for your sale.

@landofahhs--thanks for the question! I will say that if/when you can "buy into" the top of the line sort of gear, then you're in! It just takes the one purchase and then youcan sell toward some other fine instrument etc.

@msum--Couldn't have said it better myself. And this one's still for very available.

Thanks, fellows.
