Remember it says "richest drummers" not the "most talented drummers". Rating that list by skill, half of those drummers should have only had gigs playing at weddings. They were/are riding the coat tails of the other band members...
still you have to give them there due and i say they earned it with all the crapp they get dished out over the years but im wondering what the old guys worth was as in gene, buddy and the rest
LOL years ago I was at Joey Kramers house in Westport. It was a nice house and all but not 100 million nice. ;)

What IS $100M nice? It's not like he has $100B. : ) Not everyone's into cars and glitz. Knew a few folks with seats on the NYSE. They lived in Kings Point, LI, NY. They drove beater "station cars", but they did have a tremendous '20's brick mansion. Moot? Prolly.
Anyway, lucky you! You got to meet Joey and had an invite to his place. I'd enjoy that, very much. Played along with their music for years, as a kid; sometimes, still. What's with all the Joey Hate? Rock steady player and seemingly good guy (would have to be, to put up with T&P).

I'm really surprised Charlie Watts isn't closer to the top as well as the U2 drummer because their ticket prices are crazy stupid exspensive.
The wealth numbers reflected here are not solely based on what they made while drumming. The numbers are a reflection of guys who made some money drumming and cashed in on either their celebrity, or had awesome managers/portfolio handlers. Also, now that we are in the day and age of stealing music and calling it "sharing" like that someway makes it cool to do so, modern artists who have not had the opportunity to have the local record/cassette stores as the only source of their music will suffer in the checkbook, and on this list, I would think.

Amen to that!!Yes Sir!!!!!!!!!
'Cause if that where the case Buddy would be #1 and a guy like Carl Palmer who's of a contemporary of all of these guys would be a strong second!
Plus he owns a Gladstone set, so that makes him extra cool.
Carl could play jazz, swing....classical and knock em dead at bar mitzvahs.
Just like Papa Jo used to say, he could play anything, weddings, bar mitzvahs and funerals, but unlike Phily Joe and many others, he'd say, they had tunnel vision, all he wanted to do was play bop. That's the definition of a drummer as Papa Jo would say, play anything!
So money aside, it's good to be fortunate and in the right place at the right time. As a great drum teacher and big band drummer with Tommy Dorsey and Stan Kenton used to say, Ringo was the luckiest man in show business.
Sorry,:2Cents:Soap Box
As most have learned ... and some might learn too late ... you can't take it with you. Ergo, Buddy wouldn't make the list - he's been dead for quite a while.
How about Dave Clark.Didnt he buy the rights to a bunch of rock'n'roll tv shows in Great Britain? residuals thats were the $$$ is at.
Ec curtis:I read somewher(maybe not true),that after paying all other musicians and what other is needed,Roling Stones share money in way that one half goes to Mick and Keith, and other half is shared equal on all 4 memebers,Mick and keith again,Charlie and Ron,so Charlie actualy gets 1/8 of what band earn, but even for that 160 milion looks small....
