That's brilliant! Why haven't I thought of that? My wife's been nudging me to thin the herd. I could list my COB Dynasonics for $4000 each, my 4-piece Dayton set for $10,000, and my 10-piece Fullerton set for $25,000! Then when they don't sell, I simply say, "Sorry honey, I tried. Guess the market is still soft due to this lousy economy."So is this ride really 31"? It doesn't look that big in the pics. I'd like to see a picture of it sitting on a yardstick.

I think it's either a 30 or 32,but like someone alse said, that thing probably has more wash than a Maytag.

I've seen some ads on CL,and Ebay auctions, where ,you know the seller is either clueless.....or,not truly motivated to ACTUALLY sell a cymbal or a kit.

Some go on a fishing expedition also, and some hope for the highly motivated,or plain gullible buyer to hook.

As of today,it's down to ONLY 5 K....big jump.

Yea, the guy is just some joker in my area. I was waiting for pics from the guys son for the cymbal. Trust me I don't need a 30"+ cymbal but I thought it may be cool for $750 or. The guy sent me an email saying he was sorry he was late with pics and he would get them soon...I got an email back in an hour saying his dad sold it to some guy in Worcester....When he told me his name and said he was a very interested collector and that they really wanted it to go to a good home. I told him watch craigslist and I guarantee it will be back up for sale....It only took a couple hours after he bought it...The pictures aren't even his. That's the previous owner in the picture. The guy is a joke and I think he likes all the press, even if it's bad. He use to live in nashville and run some ripoff scalping ticket agency. He spins a good tale for the first time but he also has a story for every situation he is in.....here is what the original seller wrote to me after he saw the ad on eBay.

I'm sick to my stomach...I can't believe it...I did research tho... he will be lucky to get a 1000 for it...I love his friggin ad on eBay...such bullsh**...that's the pictures my father sent to john today! That's my fathers house in those picture with my father holding the cymbal ...wow...I'm watching the sale to see what happens... I wish I could undo the whole sale...this guy is a snake for sure... hope he chokes big time on the sale

That CL ad looks like a guy John that's run lots of ads over the past few years.

Sounds like the same person - John P.

Very pushy and rude if you talk to him on the phone.

A few people that I've dealt with on CL had the same experience w him.

I contacted him through ebay to see what it weighed. I have gotten 3 or 4 more emails since then asking how serious I was and if I was ready to make a deal. Yesterday he said he want to sell it to me that day! I have not responded back.

Oh BTW I have a 30 already I just wanted to see if that one was any lighter.

Gary.

As for the true value:

I own a 30" Zildjian I paid 800.

One sold at the Chicago Drum Show a few years back for a grand.

I saw Louie Bellson use one at a clinic probably 25 years ago. It sounded great, as did he. His double bass playing put all these Metal Rockers to shame.
