This is a nice drum but a little confusing with the Gladstone leg supports....61??

If it is indeed a 3ply it is a very nice buy for someone that needs it. Like the seller states in the ad.....the Gladstone Era leg supports sell for $200 on eBay. I've seen them for $150 but that still is a good deal. The badge and hardware alone - without the shell - is worth what he's asking and more.

Nice looking drum. I could use it if it were not half a country away.

I also question the 1961 date in the description. There is no further explanation to support why the owner dates this drum to 1961. Here is how I would approach it - the silver interior paint seems to have started around 1954 or so (lots of date stamped unpainted drums in 1952 and 1953 and extremely few from 1954 and one) and the 3 ply shell was replaced by 6 ply in the later 1950s, I think the reasonable range would be 1954 - 1959. The stick choppers and the post-style leg mounts both point to the early end of that range. There is always the potential for an unexplained outlier, but the physical characteristics seem to point away from 1961. It would be interesting to know why the seller says it is from 1961. Is that speculation, or do they have some reliable information that would confirm that date?
