I need 48 Gretsch rounded headed (like pictured here) lug mounting screws at 5/16" ....measured from UNDER the rounded cap to end of screw - not overall length.

Blair???
I have a few,but don't think 48 of them.............
Thanks Blair
I went to the hardware store and bought a cool electrican's tool for precicley cutting small screws and wire. I tried it with a longer screw I have and it works like a damn. I many not need the screws after all.
I cut all the screws down for my floor tom so I don't need those.
However, I have eight (8) 7/16" round headed (left over) screws and I may need these longer ones for the snare drum - it's being built and may be slightly thicker 3ply than my rack & floor toms.
Blair if you have 24 of the round-headed Gretsch screws - the 7/16" (not the shorter 5/16") or even 3/8" will do perfectly I think - I would like to buy them. That way if the shell is same thickness I can cut them back..........can't add onto 5/16" screws if they're too short :)
P.M. if you have them,
Regarding the lugs:
I have 12 perfect small lugs on the 9x13 tom pictured here.....the mounting screws are 3/8" and the shell is a little thicker than my floor tom. These may be perfect for my snare shell. So I would only need four (4) matching small lugs and springs, have the lug nuts, I would like to buy them.
This tom is a rewrap but it's nice - got the stickchopper hoops just like my Cadi Green tom - sounds great too. It's a 53 - same year as my floor tom.
For you Blair:
The lug on the left - the gold one - is the type I'm looking for. The silver one is off my 2011 Custom USA Gretsch and is not the same as you can see.
Boy - they have really cut back on the lug build! Notice the hollow areas at the screw receptor shafts on the newer lugs. The newer lugs are noticeabley lighter for sure. Does make the kit a little lighter overall to pack around I guess - when you add up all the lugs n' hardware on a kit. I'm just now finding out exactly how many little pieces of hardware are on a drum kit - wow! Now I really understand what Gretsch employee Bill Hargner said back in the day when they decided to gold plate a Gretsch kit - like what they were doing with the Cadi Green Guitars - Quote: "We decided to do a kit like that but it was a pain in the butt because we had to plate all the little screws."
I think it's going to be expensive to plate this little kit But, the good think is that I'm NOT replating the 9x13 original tom - just because I want it left original....for the sake of its history/vintage value. I'm slowly being pulled into the light.....the vintage light.....
OK,,,
sorry for the blurry pic...
Here is a actual Caddy Green insert, and the ones that are in my 60's-70's lug...just a hair longer...
That's okay for the blurry blair photo - I see what you mean.
These are the lug nuts - swivel nuts some say. But that's okay - they don't have to be exactly the same as the cadi green lug nuts. As long as your lugs are like the one in the left of my photos and not like the chrome one they should be fine if they're 1 and 15/16" overall length and they mount to the shell at 1 and 5/16 centers .
Blair
I haven't seen your lugs yet. I will want to buy them if they're the ones I'm looking for.
Please post a few photos of what you have so We're very clear on the deal. I have no problem buying them if they're the right ones.
Measure them - overall length and mounting screw holes to centers (I need 1 5/16 center-to-center on the mounting holes......overall length is 1 15/16"
I need the underside just like in my photo above (the lug on the left). I need the springs, lug nuts and mounting screws too.
Thanks,
Blair
