50's Slingerland Radiokind with artgold lugs? Last viewed: 46 minutes ago

Loading...

Help! A friend of mine picked up a 5 x 14 Slingerland solid shell radio king in silver sparkle on the weekend for $40 Aus. with a bunch of old Olympic stuff. He passed the snare on to me! The lugs are painted with an artgold finish that looks factory to me, but I can't find any info that refers to these drums ever having artgold lugs as an option. The badge is the oval plain brass with the flourishes above and below the quality drums, so I guess around 1951. It also has a 3 point strainer and no snare cradle.

So the lugs are Gold Plated or they have a textured finish?

Can we get a picture of the drum?

The finish is smooth, it looks like laqered brass to me. The drum is missing the top stick chopper rim, the tone control and the extention for the throw off. Are these impossible to find?
