Is the cymbal stand drilled in the center factory?? Mine doesn't have that and its a 58. Also there have been many holes drilled into this set. Its a nice kit I just don't see resale value with modifications to it. I don't know tho let the others chime in...

Yup. A number of extra holes in this one. Not sure what the metal box is on the snare, but it looks like it was moved at least once. Lots of cymbal mounts on the bass, & a strange location for the newer FT leg mounts, right over the badge--never seen that before. Still, the color's great, the sound's there, for sure, & I'd pay serious money if that hihat's really nickel.......marko

that is a beautiful kit. it really is a shame about the drilling. extra cymbal mounts are not a deal breaker for me when done correctly, using the proper ear mount and put in reasonable places.

i bet that mount on the floor tom was also a cymbal mount. who would mount over the badge??

marko-that does look like an 1120 nickel hi hat from what i see.

Beautiful Kit!!! I contacted the seller about the 9x13 tom being backwards !??! Why is the badge at the back side(players side) of the shell ??? The mufler is drilled correct...so i asked him(them)to look for a calked "13"on the inside of the shell, and to see if it was up-side-down? The report back was no 13 on inside of shell...which leads me to believe this is a LEFT HANDED TOM,on a right handed kit ???

Yikes that price is so far off. It's hardly worth the time to even ask the seller questions about it. Not even $449 for that swiss cheese let alone $1449. Like a lot of you, I'm still trying to figure out why they would drill in the center of the floor tom like that for new leg brackets (and over the badge!)DOHYeah, maybe for cymbals but why three sets like that?

That interior lacquer job removes the last hope for originality-- in sound.

In fact, every piece of that kit elicits serious concerns. That blue painters tape holding the bass hoop inlay down is classy, though.

I really hate to say it, and this is the first time I have, but I do believe I see here a good candidate for a part-out. The refinished interiors does it for me. It's worth exactly the sum of its parts.

Someone thinks like me yay! No seriously it really does suck that it came down to that. All the drums are just so effed up. It really is a shame. It looks like a good kit, i mean without 2343 modifications done to it.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a candidate for cannibalism (part out), but the price is way over the top. I'd buy it and play it *if* it were about $700-900 less.

Me thinks we have a noobie collector trying to flip something he paid way too much (full value or more) to flip. Me thinks he's been had...

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

The drum set is a lefty outfit with the bass drum turned around righty style. I will guess that the tom spurs were an add-on to a bass drum that originally had clip on spurs. The extra holes are tragic for what is, otherwise, a nice set of drums. I agree with others here that the drums are worth about half of what the guy is asking. I wonder if these drums were owned by someone's uncle Billy who died a few years ago. Aunt Martha invited teenage Billy, who was named for his uncle, to go through his late uncle's stuff in the attic. Young Billy found these dirty old drums that Uncle Billy had put away more than forty years ago after making several modifications to them to play in the polka band down at the Moose lodge in the 50's.

A second muffler on the other 13" tom head, a 180 degree turn of the badge, and flipping the tom over will make a righty drum set for you. It has been done before......by me.

1966 Slingy set was once a lefty outfit
