I just finished staring at those pictures for 5 minutes-transported myself to that porch playing with an upright bass player and a big fat electric guitar......

Hey guy's, just want to keep the record straight. I was as clueless as the thrift store. I thought I was getting a cheap beginer set to put some heads on for my daughter. I knew from my younger years that Slingerland was a name brand & that Zildjian made good cymbals. Knew nothing about K's. I didn't get clued in until I googled slingerland to find out about getting some new heads. I guess I've had my Antiques Roadshow moment.

I am a firm believer in Karma and the Golden Rule. When these drums go to a new home there will be contributions to a deserving charity & this forum. If it hadn't of been for the info and help available on this forum this set might well have been lost. As a matter of fact, I only got them because the gentleman who saw them first decided not to buy them for his 11 yr old son.

Thought I'd add a few before cleaning photos. Thanks to all!

That's a great score. I hope you and your daughter get many years of enjoyment out of those tubs.

Guess I'll now have to put my local thrift store on the list of places to check.Party
