Hey guys, I have an early 80's rounded b/o badge ludwig kit and the toms(18 and 13) have 8 lugs, but i also have an orphan 79-80 ish rounded b/o 13" with 6.. were they a different line? just curious because im looking to get a 14 and 16 to bridge the huge gap between my 13 and 18, and i found a 14 w/ 6 lugs on ebay. thanks!

All 18" Ludwig toms were 8-lugs per hoop. Now, with that out of the way, is your 13" tom a power tom? All of the power toms used more lugs than the standard depth drums. 10" would use 6 vs 5, 12" & 13" would use 8 vs 6, etc. The idea was better fine tuning with the deeper drums.....

ahhhh.. yes it IS a power tom! so they only used 8 lugs on power toms in the 80's? Thanks!
