Currently $844+. Seems alot considering the re-wrapped shell, re-painted hoops w/new inlay, decaled reso head...

Never play it the same way once.

Market determines the price - if people are bidding $844 on this drum, then the market is saying this drum if worth that. Looking at it from a nuanced standpoint, 18" gretsch bass drums are highly sought after drums, re-wrapped or not. I'm interested to see how the price on this ends up, myself.

If it's just two buyers with more money than sense, does their competition for the item represent the 'market'?

Yep Yes Sir. Just like two billionaires bidding for this Jackson Pollock painting determined the market price for random splashes of paint was $140 million.

Actually, it is kinda' interesting. Wouldn't that make a great rewrap on a MIJ kit?

There are 7 bidders already. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few more jump in.

I'm curious to see where this goes too. I'd say it's worth a lot more, I paid more for my phonic 18", but not much more.

Looks like a nice drum, good luck with the auction!
