60's Ludwig Club Date BDP score Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hi all

Just got these yesterday so thought I would share.

The drums are all from the 60's but vary by 3 years so it's not a matched born set. It's from 2 different kits but what's amazing is how great of shape they are in.

14x20 kick with a rare (to me anyway) 9 x 13 CD tom manufactured in the summer of 68.

8 x 12 tom dated Sept 6 1965 & 5 x 14 Matching Pioneer snare dated Sept 13 1965.

The 14 x 14 floor tom is from 1966 & is from a Downbeat kit.

So I am on the hunt for a matching 14x14 Club Date FT but this one will hold me over until then.

All the drums are in fantastic shape with almost no pitting on the chrome. ZERO wrap separation & no fade at all. All original parts present including all beautiful keystone badges, baseball bat mufflers w/white felt, P-83 throw off, BD hoop inlays, T-rods & snare wires!

All the heads are practically brand new Remo coated Vintage Ambassadors & the drums just needed a very light cleaning.

Yes, I'm happy.

those look fantastic! they all match up nicely. I can completely understand you wanting to find the clubdate floor tom, but at least for now you've got the correct size and plies and wrap! that downbeat floro tom is worth a pretty penny too. good luck in your search! enjoy those.

Very nice! I was going to say what Mike just did about the floor tom. I just about gave up looking for mine but after three years I found one. Maybe you will get lucky and find someone that will trade even up.

Thank you!

Awesome drums! I have the same kit with the correct floor tom but my kick drum got the dreaded later Ludwig Diamond Tom Drum drilled into it. Good news with your is that the downbeat floor tom should go for a pretty penny when you find the matching club-date floor. I understand BDP is pretty rare on 60's Club Dates as well. Nice score!

Hey, beautiful drums! I see you are in San Diego. Me too, and I've got a BDP set in those sizes as well (all with classic lugs). Nice to know there are at least two of these Luddies in town. Have fun with them.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

[Attachment: 67300]I scored a MINT dead mint '65 champagne Clubdate and also seek a FT

The guy sais he had the two BD and TT since Nam, and the snare his kid took to band and got stolen. I am searching for both or to sell what I have after an exhausting search... any help???? 600 shipped if anyone is interested or trade for an older Classic Maple ( non through shell mount) I love these and always wanted a set, however I don't know where to get even the Champagne wrap that will match

Is precision's Burmuda sand close?
