1960's Ludwig Keystone badge 3pc jazz / be bop drum kit
sizes:
14" x 18" bass drum!! super rare and coveted size! THE REAL DEAL! NOT a converted tom, in the rarest and most valuable finish - black oyster pearl!! ( Ringo ! )
8" x 12" rack tom in the rare blue oyster pearl finish
14" x 14" floor tom in the rare blue oyster pearl finish
the toms are '66 and the kick is '68 based on the serial #s.
the wraps on all the drums are original, they are tucked into the scarf joints of the shell and the badges and grommets are original and tight,
the wraps match very close due to fading on the blue oyster wrap, it is really hard to tell the difference unless u are outside in direct sun light. even so, they look great together!
drums feature all original ludwig period correct hardware and internal mufflers, chrome is in great shape! no extra holes and bearing edges are nice!
outfitted with brand new Remo (the best!) heads on the toms - coated ambassador tops with clear ambassador resonant bottoms.
bass drum features a brand new Aquarian super kick 1 single ply batter and a new vintage re-issue script logo Ludwig smooth white resonant head.
heads fit great!
the tom interiors appear to be repainted but its tough to tell. the bass drum has the original bass drum hoops but was missing the inlay so i ordered 60s style black oyster pearl
inlays from precision drum in NY and they look great. retouched some paint chips on the bass drum hoops and they look great!
THESE DRUMS SOUND AMAZING! a truly beautiful, genuine vintage jazz kit with amazing tone! drums tune up great high or low but really shine at medium high jazz tuning.
I would love for this kit to go to a great jazz player who can really do it justice and will play the hell out of it!
