Wow Jeff, watch your language! Gotta love the unnecessary censorship.

Are those 20, 12 16? Not a wild and rare finish, but nice! Just cleaned, and not refinished? Those shells look great, but photos can be deceptive.

I would not pay $950 for that kit. I would feel ok paying $750 or less, if I wanted that finish.

Someone kindly confirm the '65 dating. Did all Slingerland drums have badges by '65? The hoops are most likely not original. I believe they should have an inlay groove and a chrome strip inlay or if made in later '60s, a black wrap inlay. To the best of my knowledge, the rail is not a Slingerland rail, so I would expect two extra holes in the bass drum. Slingerland rails for that era have four holes as far as I can recall.

If what I have noted above is accurate, I'd have to agree the price is half what is being asked, and that only if you are looking to play them not display them.

No. I have a Slingerland kit from 66 that has no badges on the toms, or holes for them for that matter.m The latest Slingerland kit I have to have the two hole rail mount is from 62. But I would not be surprised to see that rail in later years...
