Your kit is a Slingerland Stage Band, Slingerlands answer to Ludwig Club Date series, meaning both companies where producing a certain price point level. this was the next to the top of the line, the only difference was that the drums used less lugs on the drums to get to this price point. the lugs are all center mounted, here look at this link to your drums http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/catalogs/slingerland/1967-68_slingerland_10.jpg with the bass drum being a 14x18, and the floor tom a 14x14" this puts this kit square in the Jazz/bebop market. normally a stage band kit in the color you have and say a 14x20" bass drum run in the $500.00-$850.00 range, with yours in the color and sizes more that $850.00 for sure, Now this is only for the shell pack no hardware or cymbals

As I said in the other thread, that is one sharp kit.

Before selling, are there any family members you would consider passing them on to? Even though you could probably get $2,500 - $3,500 for the complete kit, if they stay in the family, you could always have a chance to play them. Plus, they just might inspire a young grandchild, niece or nephew.

Thanks for the input guys.....and what you say makes sense Tim, but over the years I've tried to inspire my son and he didn't care for them, out of all the older nephews (only one showed interest and took lessons for a while) and now there are my twin grandsons.

They're only four, and the way they beat the daylights out of things, the last thing I want is them playing on this kit.

I have nowhere to store them any longer, and to wait until the kids are old enough to appreciate them will be years down the road.

I purchased the boys an electronic starter kit, if they show signs of further interest there's a ton of drum kits out there for sale that kids lost interest in, I'll buy them one.

My daughter loves the fact that they can play with headphones on and she doesn't have to listen to them.

I'll contemplate this for a while longer, but I'm beginning to feel this kit would be best in the hands of an experienced drummer or collector who can appreciate them for what they are.

Are you sure that's an 18" bass and not a 20"?

In the late '60s, the cataloged stage band set was 20, 13, 14 with a 6 lug snare.

I'm sure the 18 could have been ordered in the stage band model, as I've seen another one, but only once in many years of collecting Slingerlands.

Ludwig top of the line brings more than Sling top of the line, LUD Cludates bring less that Top line luds.

The sling stage bands are much less common than Clubdates,but that doesn't always translate into more money, but IMO makes them at least as valuable as Club dates.

Your kit is very unusual that it has a rare (no matter what brand) and desirable 18" bd, and a desirable 14" ft,the unusual and less desirable component is the 13 " mt,a "bop Kit" would have a 12" mounted tom.

It is hard to say what this terrific little kit would bring,in this economy,but the 18 bd makes it more valuable,I feel that kit is worth more than a thousand,1500.00 at least.

There are people on here that know more about pricing on these than I do,hopefully they will chime in soon.

With that kind of history I don't think I could bring myself to sell them. You could always have them as a static display (not to be played) in the office, living room, den or playroom. You can always put a cover over them when the grandkids are over and might decide someday you want to play again? Your only a few years older than I am. I played till I was 30 sold my kit and thought I'd never want to play again. Boy was I wrong. I'm back at it in full swing. Many regrets selling my old kit too. Anyway great looking Slingerlands!
