'70 Ludwig Black Panther w/Double 20" Virgin Kicks Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Seeing that the seller is a retail music store, I can understand the asking price. However, the reality is that the kit is way overpriced and the store is just testing the waters. There aren't many buyers who also want the cymbals, so that price needs to be factored in. Finally, the store can't afford the real estate to keep this kit up indefinitely, so the price will come down. Bottom line, at least for my thoughts, is that they will be open to negotiating a fair price once the kit has been in the store for some time. We'll see what happens!

I agree. I think the store will get sick of having it take up space and finally agree to come down.

Thanks for the compliments on my set. I'm more of a 20,12,14-22,13,16 rail mount guy but this set popped up on eBay probably about 15 years ago with a nice BIN. I would have just passed as I figured the shipping was going to suck and then I realized the set was less than an hour from me! The best part was that the guy(feeling relieved that he did not have to ship them) had business to do in my area and he brought them to me! I have had them ever since...

The subject black panther set was still for sale a couple of weeks ago. Here's another Rock Duo Black Panther for sale in Memphis.

Those Memphis ones are cool. If that really is a 14x14 original BP floor tom I would bet that's kind of rare. Too bad the 16" floor tom got destroyed.
